MATRICHAYA'S PROJECTS
AREAS OF WORK
- Adopted villages and slums in and around Ranchi in India: Tikli Tola, Chandwe Vite, Chama, Bukru, Rendo, Dhubalia
and Sukurhuttu.
- Provided primary education to 125 children per year.
- Vocational training to over 400 women in areas as diverse as tailoring, embroidery, herbal cosmetology, paramedical
training, paper bag and creative arts etc.
- Health Clinics in above mentioned villages.
- Organizes monthly camps and seminars dealing with issues such as: Mother and Childcare, family planning, Nutrition,
Sanitation, Water and Natural Resource conservation, alcohol and tobacco abuse.
- Microloans have been given to over 100 women who individually or collectively wish to start their own businesses
following the vocational training programs provided by Matrichaya.
- To initiate microcredit programs.
- Financed exclusively through contribution by members.
- Education Provided to 125 children per year.
- Adult Literacy Program.
EDUCATION
Under privileged children in the age group of 5 to 10 years and women labourer are given free primary education.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING
Vocational Training Programs:
- Stitching and Embroidery
- Handicraft making
- Herbal Cosmetology
- Beauty Culture
- Creative arts such as glass staining, body decoration, candle making, jewellery designing, etc.
As a step towards achieving self reliance for the poor girls and women of the region, the organization imparts
vocational training by forming Self Help Groups (SHGs).

Members of these S.H.G. have greatly benefited from these vocational courses which have helped them enhance their
family income. Matrichaya is providing vocational training in Cutting, Stitching, Jari Works and other Handicrafts to the
female Jail Inmates. The various products made by them are marketed in Gram Shree Melas.
HEALTH CARE
Matrichaya has been running Health Centres and Health Camps regularly in the adopted villages.

Matrichaya plays a key role in the development of Micro enterprises by providing training capacity building and
provision of income generating asset to women and children of S.H.G.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
The organization also works for the community development through its drives and campaigns - hygiene, sanitation
awareness campaign, anti-tobacco and alcohol drive, tree plantation programmes. This has resulted in greater social
and environmental awareness among the poor villagers.
